This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

Elon Musk donated $277 million to Trump so he could steal the federal governmentβs data, dismantle the nationβs infrastructure, and stop foreign aid from going to nonwhite people. Itβs a quid pro quo breathtaking in scope, corruption, and damage, & completely unprecedented in American history.

I do understand: you want permission. Thereβs a machine in the corner wrapped in human skin that makes things out of shit and blood to look like whatever you want (as long as you donβt look too closely). You gave one to your teacher and they didnβt notice. Your boss told you to use it after they laid off half the team and it was fine. You fed one to your kids and they liked it. You want to know you can use it sometimes without me thinking less of you. You donβt need me to believe itβs useful, you just want me to be polite about it.
But I am a hater, and I will not be polite. The machine is disgusting and we should break it. The people who build it are vapid shit-eating cannibals glorifying ignorance. I strongly feel that this is an insult to life itself.
I cosign every single word of this

Basic light pollution diagram showing four different streetlight set ups ranging from more light pollution on the left to less light pollution on the right. The most pollution option, labelled "very bad" is a street lamp with a round uncovered bulb on top, making a sphere of light in the air. The next option, labelled "bad" has a tiny cap on top, that limits the upward pollution a bit. The "better" option is mostly uncovered on top, limiting pollution above the streetlight. The final option, labelled "best" has a full shroud overtop, limiting the light to only below the streetlight, where it is needed for pedestrians and vehicles.
Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"
guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

While US venture capitalists were buying monkey jpegs, and DOGE coins, and figuring out how to get Black women fired, and tweeting about white birthrates, and trying to mandate which bathroom trans kids should use, China was making progress on climate change and taking the lead in a real industry.

Most trucks manufactured after 2004 are way too big to the point of being an active hazard to everyone around it, and are only getting worse.
Your truck shouldn't have a hood height taller than my entire car, and visibility comparable to a Peterbilt semi or a main battle tank.
