Submitted an R15 today to the NIH. Going to celebrate by calling my elected officials to remind them that they control government funding, not Elon Musk!

Ours at Simmons was too. No notice and the program was scrubbed from their website.
We will continue our work making every curious student feel welcome in STEM.

I have to say that even with the surmounting challenges with this administration, I still love my job. I will stay and do my best to learn and teach and make every curious student feel like they belong.

HHMI just cancelled our grant. We were in the second year of developing programs to retain students from all backgrounds in STEM. All that work, all that energyโฆ..I am profoundly disappointed. Well-funded HHMI labs, what do you think of dismantling funding for these training programs?

I absolutely love this amazing original piece of art by my student Terry Wu. I missed the adult frog made from lab paper towels the first time I saw it. Such amazing talent and excited to see biology inspiring our students! Thank you Terry!

Does it go:

Trying to determine where we are currently and where we're going.

Dear fellow scientists, Go talk to the press about what is going on. Talk to local news about how it will impact jobs. Be specific, but don't pity yourself. Instead focus on how your own situation affects local jobs, the national economy, beating the growing scientific race with China. Suggestions:
