I just checked after listening to the most recent QL episode.

Dr. MLK Jr's grandfather was James King, and great grandfather was Nathan King.

It does appear that the last name was changed to "King" after emancipation. The original last name was Branham/Brannam.

This movie is legit one of my favorite movies of all time and one of my comfort movies. When my father died, I watched this movie quite a lot during my darkest months.

I am still looking forward to this review.
