I watched the presser and came away reasonably sure it was incompetence mixed with Saudi lawlessness.
βForget the myths the media has created about the White House. The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.β
Not in favour of dismemberment. Obvs.
More fuel for @stephenkb.bsky.socialβs theory that post-AI jobs will include bank teller - and now also door-to-door opinion pollster.

Itβs been a long time coming but itβs great to see the IOC protecting women. The IOC is moving to remove men from women's sport.
Men who identify as the opposite sex are still allowed to compete, they just have to do so with the men.
The βsheer reliefβ is doing a lot of work here. Relief from what-having to consider that maybe politicians across the spectrum reacted quickly because there are legitimate questions about consistency and proportionality? He doesnβt actually answer those questions, he just assumes theyβre bad faith.

If you want change put together a party thatβs worth voting for. If it comes down to voting for someone preachy or someone crazy then people choose crazy, at least crazy listens to them.

I expect the publisher to be utterly spineless.

Please go back to your comedy articles or humanity TV, I miss them. You're approaching Blocked and Reported levels of intellectual dishonesty (I bet you defended black Ariel or Jodie Turner-Smith as Anne Boleyn). In fact you're Deadpool.

A perfect epistemic trap: data exists and was published by progressive institutions but anyone who references it is motivated by racial animus. This doesn't protect minorities - it protects corporations doing performative representation from scrutiny while making empirical discussion impossible.
/5
When corporations overrepresent minorities (per their own metrics), it's progressive. When people discuss corporations overrepresenting minorities (per their own metrics), it's "being mad at the sight of" minorities. One of these moves is intellectual, one is emotional blackmail. Do better!
/4
Here's the actual question that can't be asked: Should commercial advertising aim for demographic accuracy or is representation purely an aesthetic/marketing choice? No one can discuss this because "noticing the data = you hate seeing minorities" is the mandatory interpretation.
/3
The study wasn't commissioned by "two white men on the radio." It was commissioned by Channel 4 itself as part of their diversity audit. They measured it. They published it. An MP cited their own numbers. The PM called her racist. This is the discourse we're trapped in.
/2
Sigh am annoyed.
"Being mad at the sight of Black people on TV" is doing heavy rhetorical work here. Let me translate: Channel 4 published data showing Black people appear in 51% of UK ads while being 4% of the population. Discussing this = "being mad at the sight of Black people".

You can say the same thing when asking about using thin models in advertising, its an aesthetic choice which reveals a lot about the speaker, taboos and all that. Tells you where peoples fears are.
Clearly you have not been on fat people Tumblr.
