I love me a good fantasy trope of one 10-foot slime turning into ten 1-foot slimes

This gives the idea of slimes as a result of a creature incapable of containing a sudden influx of magic. Great power limiter for magic systems to say "frog can't handle human amounts of magic"

Reading the first few chapters had me realizing there's an entire side to the ecosystem I was blind to in my worlds

So how big are your smallest slimes before the split goes from two slimes to one dead slime?

When a large meteor hit the planet millions of years ago, the elemental core at the center was exposed and radiated the world around it. Because of this radiation, all life is born with an elemental affinity that allows living creature to use elemental magic and has drastically shaped evolution.
