Without fail, whenever there's an article about a transgender person, the comments have at least one person who boldly declares: βThere are only two genders! XX and XY!β The reality, of course, is not that simplistic, far from it.

Huge respect to those who made this happen in just a matter of days.
Imagine the size of the crowd Sex Matters would have mustered to protest, if the ruling had been different.
Take heart. The tide will turn.
Title reads: "It Didn't Start with Gas Chambers." Text below reads: "It started with one party controlling the media. One party controlling the message. One party deciding what is truth. One party censoring speech and controlling the opposition. One party dividing citizens into "us" vs "them" and calling on their supporters to harrass "them". Below it states: "It started when good people turned a blind eye and let it happen." Beneath the text is a picture of Nazi Germany.
Never forget.

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

Can you please explain clearly to me what is wrong with these policies?
Cuts for the poor. Handouts for the rich.
Thatβs what this Labour government stands for.

After 14 years of Conservative rule, we were told that austerity was over. That was a lie.

UK Govt assault on the poor & disabled in context.
In 2024-25, the govt spending Β£1,276.2bn.
Benefit cut will save Β£1bn a year. Hardly significant.
It can have up to Β£20bn by taxing capital gains and dividends at the same rate as wages, and charging NIC. But won't do it.
Political choice.

#BenefitCuts
The proposed Β£6bn cut equates to: 0.25% of a total Govt spend of Β£1.23trn.
Reflect on this:
1/4 of 1 percent of Govt spending in a year.
There are alternatives:
1. 0% interest rates or,
2. Stop paying interest on bank reserves
but that would hurt the rich, so lets not do that
Going to share a couple of petitions to sign against any proposed benefit cuts for the sick and disabled #benefitcuts #Labour #KeirStarmer #reeves
