Myco-Ed: Mycological curriculum for education and discovery Fungi are important and hyperdiverse organisms, yet chronically understudied. Most fungal clades have no reference genomes, impeding our understanding of their ecosystem functions and use as solutions...

Have you heard about MycoEd yet? A model educational program offering training for students on fungal genome sequencing and analysis. how powerful!! #mycofam #thefutureisfungal

"PhD-level experts in your back pocket" is a completely nonsensical description of AI but a pretty good description of social media if you follow the right people

OpenAI claims new GPT-5 model boosts ChatGPT to โ€˜PhD levelโ€™ GPT-5's release comes as tech firms continue to compete in an effort to claim the world's most advanced AI.

Obviously a lie, since the definition of PhD-level expertise, standard across universities worldwide, is that you can produce original knowledge.

I am a Ph.D. not an M.D., but 4 articles/abstracts in 8+ years of training (ugrad + med school) doesn't seem high to me. Could this not be due to incoming med students having ugrad research experience? Or more people working in research positions during a gap yr? How does this lead to misconduct?

Also, 30,000 fake papers out of 1 million+ does not indict or threaten science as a whole. This entire "science is in crisis from within" narrative is a right-wing myth.

A graphic with photos of Senator Warren saying:

Step 1: Congress negotiates a deal that both parties support and itโ€™s signed into law.

Step 2: Trump tells Republicans what parts of the deal he wants to cancel.

Step 3: Republicans in the Senate bend the knee and follow Trumpโ€™s orders to cancel the money.

Apparently, Step 4: Republicans turn around and ask Democrats to negotiate more deals for next yearโ€™s funding.

Why should Democrats support a โ€œbipartisan billโ€ just for Republicans to turn around and delete the parts Donald Trump doesnโ€™t like?
