Thankfully internal gas is usually only a problem if the surgery goes into a body cavity, so I haven’t had to deal with it this time - and even when I had a laparoscopy, the internal gas was less of an issue than the constipation from gut peristalsis shutting down and having to restart

You can post it to AO3 to gauge interest/gain a following/find your rhythm without pouring a ton of resources into building a website

None of it is really “easy” but it can be done alongside a regular office job and can eventually make a decent income supplement

It’s funny - the surgical site pain is basically over, and at this point my main source of discomfort is the bruising from other stuff that was done while I was under during surgery (repeated blood pressure cuff inflation, arms strapped in certain ways, drains placed)
