I helped make a film, out this week, called β€œRovina’s Choice,” about the deaths this man without conscience or accountability has caused β€” already 600,000, β…” of them children.

Conflict Resilience: Negotiating Disagreement Without Giving Up or Giving In – Canadian Journal of Physician Leaders

This book reframes conflict not as something to win or avoid, but to hold.

Conflict tolerance isn’t a soft skill, it’s a core skill in healthcare today.

In medicine we’re trained to treat disease, not navigate workplace conflict. It can feel like running a Code Blue without any ACLS cards.

My book review of Conflict Resilience by @bobbordone.bsky.social & Joel Salinas is out in CJPL ➑️

it's CaRMS reference letter season - annual reminder to use a gender bias checker prior to submitting those letters! The bias is unconcious so it's nice to have a third party to help with blind spots.

Some takeaways from #ICRE2025
πŸ’‘ Balancing #psychsafety with productive struggle is an ongoing art in learning.
🎭 #Improv helps us embody that balance through vulnerability, curiosity, and play.
πŸ’™Trust and connection aren’t extras but essential.
Time well spent! @icreconf.bsky.social

Stories go where data cannot.

We need a culture change in healthcare! We deserve to thrive in our medical careers. Wellness and mastery are not opposites.

Faculty tend to teach how they were taught. Concepts like productive struggle are complex & (sometimes) uncomfortable for faculty. Where are safe spaces for faculty to practice these skills, so they can integrate into clinical teaching confidently? A call for engagement with FacDev? #ICRE2025

Situational awareness = more than noticing.
It’s about revising your mental model as things change and understanding others’ perspectives.

Workforce density is such an important concept we teach in global surgery. In rural Canada we don’t reach recommended SAO densities either and it’s starting to show.
