The Government is consulting on the biggest shake-up of planning rules since 2012.

But it remains weaker than what was in place between 1994 and 2012! That previous policy rightly identified traffic growth as damaging our towns, countryside and planet.

Race to find source of carcinogenic Pfas in Cumbria and Lancashire waters Exclusive: High levels of banned β€˜forever chemical’ have been detected in rivers and groundwater at 25 sites

It's still a shock to find a new PFAS forever chemical hotspot, even when it's inevitable. A bit of digging around paper mills, which often use PFAS, revealed the banned carcinogen PFOS at levels as high as 3,000ng/l in groundwater in south Cumbria

Its a very sad situation when some people only care when it impacts the health of their own children, not others. Our neighbours were free to cause PM2.5 pollution nearly 100x normal levels in our children's bedrooms because the stove industry in the UK is self regulating and completely lawless.

The UK government didn't want you to see this report on ecosystem collapse. I'm not surprised | George Monbiot It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For β€˜doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Please spread this far and wide, as stories don't get much bigger than this. When the government blocks even the intelligence services from telling us we're heading for environmental catastrophe, you know we have a problem. A very big problem.

Our Watershed Pollution Map filtered to show nitrogen oxide pollution - lighter colour = higher levels. You can pick out the road network in nitrogen oxide emissions. Diesel engines produce particularly high levels of this gas, linked to heart + breathing conditions.

2025 likely to be UK's hottest year ever recorded – Met Office Scientists could not be clearer that human-caused climate change is driving the UK's warming trend.

What was normal 10 or 20 years ago, will become relatively cool in the future.

People are going to experience more wildfires, more droughts, and more heatwaves.

It’s vital that MPs listen to the National Emergency Briefing.

Cycling like the Dutch would slash the world’s carbon footprint If everybody cycled like the Dutch, we could offset the UK or Australia’s entire carbon footprint.

β€œDutch people cycle an average of 2.6km each per day. If this pattern was replicated worldwide, annual carbon emissions would drop by 686 million tonnes.

This mammoth figure exceeds the entire carbon footprint of most countries, including the UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Australia.” @euronews.com
