That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next. Understand what it is to pray in Chicago.

How absolutely marvelous, Duncan. I live in Humboldt County, California, where restoration of the #KlamathRiver is ongoing and the results are astounding. Fish are swimming hundreds of miles up into tributaries where they haven’t been in over 100 years. Beautiful 🤩

Reach out if you’re down this way. Salaries tend to be on the low side because it’s so darn rural but for traveling nurses and etc. it’s usually better. We have a long way to go to make our healthcare system truly functional but help is always welcome.

How fabulous. What a great place to be assigned. I have to head home after my two weeks with my sister, cleaning out Mom‘s place. But home is Humboldt County so I can’t really complain.

So glad it’s bringing a happy memories. Yes it’s a lovely place. Isn’t it?
