I disagree. If a law has been broken by unidentified people, then local law enforcement must take action. I never said that. Again, Medicaid and the ACA are backstops to prevent this. All of which the Republicans are stripping.
Seems like you're trying to make this an all-or-nothing argument about govt run healthcare. The ACA was actually a phenomenal compromise.

All of these guardrails are collapsing with the Republican budget. That's why Dem's won't support it.

If you can't afford insurance, the ACA and Medicaid provides basic services. Also federal law requires patients in life threatening conditions to be seen by EMS. Something that Republicans are twisting to falsely accuse Dem's support of funding illegal immigrants.

This is the difference between taking personal responsibility and fulfilling the mandate to have minimum insurance. That was the big argument for (or against) the ACA 15+ years ago.

I am totally in favor of decoupling insurance from the employer. It's totally archaic. However I also want choices based upon my needs and my doctor. The portability is very important.

What the government is good at is setting a legal framework of operation. But the operation itself shouldn't be privatized by the federal govt. This is a political/philosophical difference between free markets and socialism.

You can get common 90 generics here as well depending upon your state or income due a similar amount. Maybe $10-15. Without insurance around $30. You say no copay, but isn't your 6€ is a copay?

I hear you. But I'm not sure you fully understand the ACA which addresses many of your points.And isn't the taxation system in Germany wildly different than the US? A single comparison to NYC isn't a fair evaluation & a much longer
conversation. Point #1- I don't trust the federal govt to run this.

At that point does a court see that a "pattern" exists of gross civil rights violations? Right now every court decision is made in a vacuum.
