I wouldn't call vtmb2 an immersive sim quite yet (still early on tho, so maybe there'll be more routes to take in future levels) but i can feel the DNA there. I think given time and resources the chinese room will make a really cool immersive sim in the future.

im loving fabien. i love that he narrates his life like a noir detective even though it's the 2020s. It's camp. I was worried he'd be annoying but he reminds me a lot of Varric Tethras (or, specifically, a character from Hard in Hightown)

i appreciate the clunkiness of the combat because, like, yeah, youre really not supposed to fight more than one guy in this. ive been having fun kinda dividing and conquering ghouls by throwing stuff. vtmb2 is a good game for people who pretended cyberpunk was a stealth game

weird that theres no weapons but the combat is still fun and tbh i dont think anyone misses BL1s gunplay

so far, the dialogue options mostly match what Phyre actually says, which is nice. So far it's a lot of

OPTION: Are you okay?
DIALOGUE: Are you okay? You look hurt.

It expands the dialogue so far but keeps the meaning. I do still wish we got the whole line, but this is a good balance.

playing the new VTMB2 and honestly aesthetically? Like, the graphics are great, the characters can emote well (i was very worried about that tbh) and the settings are cool. I like that a lot of the game is very cool lit so the blood pops.
