I saw him speak in 1988 as a teenager, and was blown away. The speeches are the entry point though, and it wasn't just oratory skills but there were proposals and plans there too. A different road, and a different Democratic party, were possible.

Amazon book order for two family wealth management books, a biography of the Rothchilds and a piece of outdoor furniture.

So our financial guy bought a couple of books on family wealth management, and our advisor to the Rothchilds (and at various times claimed to be Rothchild wealth manager) bought a book on the Rothchilds. Lots of outdoor furniture over the years too. Wonder if he read the books?

Jmail, logged in as jeevacation@gmail.com You are logged into jeevacation@gmail.com, Jeffrey Epstein's email. Sourced from the November 2025 House Oversight Committee data release.

So let’s take a look at these Amazon orders, starting from the oldest available to the most recent. Lots of weirdness here, and connections to be made, not being complete though, just hitting some of what jumped out at me. Data retrieved from jmail.world

So, here are some Amazon orders of Jeff Epstein. The account seemed to be linked to his personal email, and was used for book purchases, furniture, and odd little items. You can find a number of his purchases in the FBI photos of his houses.

The banality of evil was originally how I was going to describe it, and much of it is sheer banality, but the last few weeks have seen connections everywhere and perhaps there is nothing more central to the story of the last couple of decades than this nasty piece of work. In Amazon orders.

Someone has recommended this to him. Did he read it? Who recommended it? Well, I can’t answer those questions, but I got fascinated about the Amazon orders and read through the set of orders.

Jeff Epstein Amazon book order of "Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind"

Jeff Epstein Amazon book order of "Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind"

It’s a theory that I kinda wish was true, but it probably isn’t. Dawkins, staying in a close orbit now, said it best, "either complete rubbish or a work of consummate genius.”

So thumbing through Epstein’s Amazon orders in the files, and I see his order for a copy of the book.

I keep a good pile of interesting, non-physics, books in my office, and my friend left with my copy of Julian Jayne’s β€œOrigin of consciousness in the breakdown of the bicameral mind.” Such an amazing title!

When I was talking to my friend who had visited Epstein, we got to talking a bit about human consciousness, certainly a common topic for physicists as well as neuroscientists. Also a touch point for the β€œnew atheists” of twenty years ago who also were a variety of pet much beloved by Epstein.

You can find physics funding proposals in the files. And you can find physics citations, bizarrely censored by someone. The FBI? Some DOJ AI prompt? This is miles away from the political influence centers, but is another area corrupted by these people.

What even is the connection between physics and Epstein? He was supposedly a teacher of math and physics in his brief private school stint. And it seemed that he was interested in physics, or perhaps in having physicists around, as well as girls to abuse.

One of them I was well aware of, and we even talked about him traveling by private jet and getting financial support from some wealthy folks back around 2006. Scientists who fell into Epstein’s orbit should publicly explain themselves, and science overall needs to have a reckoning on this topic.

I have gone back and forth about making this post, about writing anything about Epstein, and science and scientists. A number of colleagues of mine, and two people I had at one time considered friends, are in the Epstein files. And I feel like venting a bit...

My counter-example is that a lot of HR is sticking words together in fairly simple formulas, and most HR workers could be replaced with LLM. Perhaps even moderately small language models.

RIP Robert Tinney (November 22, 1947 – February 1, 2026), the artist famous for his playful covers for Byte magazine, a hobbist magazine that ushered in the microcomputing age from the mid-70s through the 90s. I'm honored to have included his work in my own art collection.

That is not the only problem of course. Launching this sort of weight into orbit is fantastically expensive, and when you have new GPUs, going to replace the old ones?

Such a pretty plane! I had the good fortune to see one up close back in the late 1990s in Fort Sumner, NM. Stepped out of the hanger (NASA balloon program) and a B-1 flew over me at a height of I involuntarily ducked.

New from me: It is not just that the US is experiencing democratic backsliding. Authoritarianism has emerged more quickly than in other benchmark countries.

This graph from John Burn-Murdoch sums it up. 🧡

Earthquake sensors buried in the quietest spot on Earth Deep beneath the South Pole, two seismometers will monitor the planet’s interior and the movement of Antarctic ice

Wake up, babe, the new quietest spot on Earth just dropped 🀫🧊🌐

It's 2.5 km under the South Poleβ€”and geologists have installed seismometers there that operate more quietly than the background rumblings of Earth itself. Read more about this cool project in @science.org : tinyurl.com/5n76jfht #science
