It's difficult to pick just 3 but I'll end with Burning Hell - Ghost Palace. Fantastic, and amusing song writing. One of the best live bands I've seen as well.

Top 3 Albums I heard this year.

1. Rattle - Encircle

Hypnotic, drums and vocals duo. I almost felt myself going into a kind of trance seeing this album performed live at Hull's Adelphi a few months ago.

Not to mention the tuning being weirdly off on the original recording...and that kind of riffing being groundbreaking for the time... people would have had no chance trying to copy it.

I essentially just did something like this last year. Not the same recipe but some variation of "left over" Christmas vegetable curry".

An afternoon spent rereading what is possibly my favourite book.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

Last RT for now if anyone missed it. Hate sounding like a salesman but pre-orders are criticical for small press writers cos it helps drive demand to get it in chain bookstores as well as indies. Gonna stfu now till we get some replies from the copies that have been sent out.

Bluesky feels like social media as it should be. I've discovered a lot of creativity and recommendations here.

Kind of like Burroughs but funnier, and set in your nearest faded English seaside resort town in that you grew up in or a bus journey away from.

Lucky enough to have seen them twice... they're a full scale sonic assault.

Looks forward to seeing more from The Bee.

Everyone does seem fed up recently...I wonder if it's due to cost of living pressures and the unrelenting pace of things.
