Trump's Department of Justice serves three purposes:

Declare that whatever Trump wants to do is legal.
Dispense favors on Trump's political allies.
Investigate and punish Trump's political opponents.

It is a dangerous three tiered system of justice that is leading our country down a dark road.

The Trump administration literally just cut the contract for ongoing audits of the Prison Rape Elimination Act, the extremely bipartisan law (unanimously passed in 2003) that requires jails and prisons to take rape seriously and adopt policies designed to make it less likely to happen.
