The must fun I've had with the franchise since the original (at last!).
Big Klingon vibe too, which I was totally on board with.
Also: legs.
Yvonne Mitchell and Diana Dors in Yield to the Night.

#Bugonia triggered just about every emotion in me as it ricocheted around genres.
A wild, WTF of a movie. And one of the best of the year.
It's bad enough that he has a platform to spout this shit but it's so much worse that people lap it up as the absolute truth.
03.11.2025 18:37 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0#MrScorsese is terrific.
Makes an easy case for Marty being *the* best film director ever and has encouraged me to watch every single one of his movies again.
Well worth a viewing!

Watched #Frankenstein by @realgdt.bsky.social last night at The Regent in Christchurch, the closest screening to Mary Shelley's resting place in Bournemouth.
And it was fantastic. I think I'd go as far as to say it was sumptuous! Jacob Elordi the standout in a top tier cast.
***IN TWO WEEKS***
High Contrast Cinema are back at the @allendalecentre.bsky.social on Friday 7th November with YIELD TO THE NIGHT starring Diana Dors.

Not that I expected any other outcome but within minutes I felt like #MrScorsese had been made specifically for me.

16.10.2025 19:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's insane. People set up serious sounding accounts and just post complete bullshit. No wonder the world's gone the way it has!
16.10.2025 19:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Obviously he's not 97 but his birthday is 31st December. I block as many of these accounts as I can but the posts have endless 'Happy Birthday' replies. People don't seem to care so much about the truth any more...

16.10.2025 18:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Facebook is awash with this stuff, and so many people assume it's the real deal. I only really go there via an organisation page rather than my own but I feel like pouring bleach in my eyes half the time. The birthday cake ones are the worst!

Really sad about this, she was fucking awesome.
Think like I saw the film of the year this week...

And on the subject of new to @netflix.com UK, season 1 of #DarkWinds has just appeared on there, and that's very good too!

Both seasons of #InterviewWithTheVampire are now on @netflix.com in the UK.
The very highest of recommendations for this incredible series (which leaves the movie adaptation in the dust).
Everyone seems to have seen it already but I finally caught up with #OneBattleAfterAnother...
...and yeah, you were all right about it.
Feels like a film you could watch in the 30 years and it would be a great time capsule for the era it was made in.
Bermudian-born Earl Cameron was one of the first Black actors to get star billing and portray an interracial romance in a British film.
That film is Pool of London (1951), screening next Friday 10th October at the @allendalecentre.bsky.social

Watched this one with my kid today (first time for him).
Seeing it opening weekend 31 (!) years ago remains one of the best cinema experiences I've ever had.
It grabbed hold of the zeitgeist on a level that few films manage.

24.09.2025 18:04 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It's baffling that the now Emmy-award-winning series #ThePitt *still* hasn't found a home in the UK.
