Today this song is more relevant than ever.

Sun Ra was anti-war and "Nuclear War" is an #antiwar song. He was a conscientious objector during WWII and was jailed for his pacifism.

He believed his music/message could bring peace and "Save Your Ass" from war.

R.I.P. Éliane Radigue, one of the most innovative and radical composers of our century- if you haven’t heard her music yet, prepare for something simultaneously delicate and oceanic. I don’t love the word “genius” but she deserves it.

There are people who haven’t quite loomed up the way they may, but who, in small roles, like Catherine O’Hara, do stuff you’ve never seen before, like what she did in BEETLEJUICE. I mean, she’s an amazement. (1992)

Find a bad Catherine O'Hara performance. I dare you. Just kidding, one doesn't exist.

Twelve rolls of medical tape in varying sizes. We’ll patch you up in no time, Sean told the kid on the gurney, his hands and arms covered in some sort of sticky black goo. It reminded Sean of meconium. It was the fourth case she’s seen this week, and she was less confident of the prognosis than she let on. EMT forums were full of medics and nurses trading tips, but the truth is, no one knew what caused the black goo, much less how to treat it. You sponge off the goo as much as possible, cover the affected area with gauze, and wrap with medical tape. Beyond that, no one knew, in those early days of what would become known as The Sludge. The kid died seven hours later.

Beautiful work, @denizcamp.bsky.social. Went to cop copies to gift on my lunch just now & all sold out 'round here at least; any danger of a second printing?
