many people find this brusque little addition to the story of Scrooge's redemption to be pretty funny so they riff on it endlessly. to be fair i do think it's pretty funny too

it is a line from charles dickens' Christmas Carol. he is a sick little boy who is probably going to die because his father works for Scrooge who doesn't pay very well. when it comes time to wrap the story up, there's a quick line "and to Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, Scrooge was a second father"
