This is supposed to be April O’Neil from TMNT. I modeled the character after the yellow jumpsuit version from the 80s cartoon, only to realize that I actually kinda hate that outfit? So I lost the plot a bit. Still kinda like it.

I’ve found the word “cousin” incredible shorthand for any relation that doesn’t fit on a grade schooler’s homework assignment.

ABK recently said that it’s pointless to fact check someone saying "there are no pronouns in the Bible.” They don’t care what the Bible actually says - they just hate trans people.

Same rule applies here. Just an excuse to hate Muslims.

It’s kind of a dud from an ATLA lore perspective.

But… it’s a lotus. In MTG.

In the ATLA universe, the White Lotus is a secret society. The game piece has no inherent magical power, but it’s a symbol of the order.

So this could have been an anthem, a creature tutor, a small mana rock (a la the signets), or something similar.

Yet I don’t totally hate this.

Trying to decide if I’m annoyed or impressed that the lotus card winds up being another big mana rock.

Oh yeah, English needs better words for relations ASAP.

Unrelated, but I need a gender neutral term for “nieces and nephews” asap.

Renee Montoya is a character that always deserves better. I feel like her turn as the Question went under-explored.

I’ve never seen a satisfactory answer to this question, from the media nor from any elected official.

I LIKE this movie, but Gunn has a mean streak that just (if you ask me) doesn’t work for Superman.

Watching Superman with my wife. We get to the scene where Superman has to save Metamorpho’s baby from the black hole.

Her: “Something’s wrong with James Gunn.”

Did a read of Immortal Hulk earlier this year. Personally, I feel like the series couldn’t maintain the powerful horror it started off with, but those early chapters with the twisted Hulk transformations definitely stuck with me.

Lotta MTG discourse this week, so I decided to dedicate my drawing to something completely uncontroversial: my favorite partner commanders.

I LIKE Rosewater. He’s good at his job, and when he makes mistakes, he owns them. Plus, he’s genuine and nice.

But Commander was a format that developed fairly organically outside WOTC’s game design lab. These rule changes take Commander further from what it was, and I’d rather not.

"I'm not a Commander fan," Rosewater said. "To me, Magic is a strategic game. I love it because I win when I'm outthinking my opponent. Commander is not a strategic game. It is a political game; you're playing the people."

I didn’t say (and I don’t believe) he wants to destroy Commander. I do question whether someone who doesn’t like the format, though, should dictate how design for the format should work.
