They arenโ€™t difficult at all, unless you are a victim of the American education system.

Itโ€™s because we rarely stop and think how incredibly inefficient petrol cars are. My family sized EV can cover 400km on the energy equivalent of 6.5 litres of petrol.

20 years ago I was hoping to be alive long enough to see Nuclear Fusion industrialised.

Now I find my self just wanting to be alive long enough for all the anti-progress bullshit around wind / solar / batteries / EVs to have gone away.

4. Hydrogen, it just bloody leaks
5. Making, compressing, storing and transporting hydrogen is very energy intensive, so very energy inefficient.
6. In the car converting hydrogen to electricity also not efficient
7. Hydrogen fuelling cost per mile up to 8 times more than a pure EV

Thanks Graeme, in addition to your excellent post, hydrogen refuelling has many issues.
1. Some stations could only fill 5 or 6 cars a day
2. There isnโ€™t really a small vehicle hydrogen filling station standard
3. Hydrogen nozzles often freeze up, and can take 2 hours to defrost

UK here, our National Grid Operator provides us with an app showing our records. Our usual total demand in the day is between 25-40GW. Iโ€™ve turned the notifications off for coal, as we deleted the last coal power station 9 months ago.

All UK Model 3 cars are made in China, some of the Model Y made in Germany.
I was pleased to see the July results, Tesla were -60% year in year in UK sales. The huge June increase seems to just have been the past 3 or 4 months of Model Y orders finally being delivered.

I managed North England to South Spain in a 280km real range van. We possibly have more advanced infrastructure just now though.

You flip from cars are expensive to no public chargers to houses donโ€™t have driveways. If you donโ€™t want an EV just say so, but keep flipping to different excuses is weak.

There are excellent second hand EVs at lower prices than the equivalent second hand petrol. All cars are expensive now.

Iโ€™m up North, most EVs have over 150 miles range now, thatโ€™s almost 3 hours driving time according to the government averages, then 20 minutes coffee break and youโ€™re off for another 150 miles.

You can get a second hand ID.3, basically an electric VW Golf for less than ยฃ10k in the UK.

You used the ยฃ sign, so I assume you are here in the UK. Second hand EVs are an absolute steal at the moment, maybe worth checking out on Autotrader.
