Potential hot take: when a living animal (especially bird or reptile) "looks like a dinosaur" it is almost entirely because a good chunk of #paleoart (some of it influential) was inspired by those same animals. See: cassowaries, lammergeiers, shoebills, etc.

A Dryptosaurus, a more graceful relative of Tyrannosaurus, walks on a beach towards the water. Opposite the ocean, the sand gives way to small rocky cliffs, beyond which there is vegetation composed of ferns and conifers. The Dryptosaurus is colored in shades of gray and tan, with darker stripes throughout the body.

a curious Cricosaurus investigates an old Titanites, the Titanites is using its net-like radular teeth to filter out suspended particles and plankton from the water column (this behaviour is speculative but we do have ammonites with beaks and radular teeth like this)
