End of our walk for now. Bridges came thick and fast today-Kew, Chiswick, Barnes, Hammersmith. Very obscure diversion because of the problems at Kew with lots of incorrect signage-just follow your nose! Interesting to see the junction of the Grand Union with the river.

Walked from Old Windsor to Walton on Thames today, passing a fascinating array of riverside dwellings. Best bit was the Shepperton-Weybridge ferry. Shame the lock keepers don't maintain the same standards as in the upper river. So industrial and not a flower in sight @thamespathnt.bsky.social

To be fair, this was a special setup just for the record attempt. Overhead raised from 25kV to 35kV and the mechanical tension in the catenary increased. Bigger wheels on the power cars. Rake cut down from 8 cars to 4. And it was on a steep downhill section.😉
