...ask around for paper because they didn't think to bring any

Am 25.11. habe ich meine Doktorarbeit eingereicht. Am 26.11. tagte der Promotionsausschuss. Das ist zu kurzfristig.
Wegen der Weihnachtspause wird meine Prüfungskommission also erst am 18.2. eingesetzt. Erst dann bekommen die Prüfenden die Arbeit. Und ich darf noch ein Semester Gebühren zahlen.

Towards the end of my PhD thesis, typing a few words so that an additional line appeared caused the entire paragraph to become invisible for a few seconds. Adding a footnote took 30secs to a minute. I don't know how I survived that without smashing something.
