Friggin bye week just when the boys are putting a run of results together and can’t for the life of me find an opposition despite having a pitch and ref booked. Might have to brave the berks friendlies Facebook page. FFS.

First league game, first win. Playing in bottom section where everyone is nice. Kids football is sound.

Pre-season tournament at FCBracknell. Boys did great playing with a player short and against sides that will be in higher sections this season. Roll on first league game next Saturday.

Dunno about the 100, it ain’t cricket but that quite entertaining fare.

Dare say plenty of yer living god types would have no problem with it either if they knew folks from all over the world were queuing up to see them.

My young lad (10) came home from school a few weeks ago singing the 1 World Cup and 2 world wars refrain that he’d learnt at school. I just gave him the look and explained that thats one he shouldn’t repeat. I think he knew.

My experience is based in soft fruit farming in Scotland. Immigrant labour works for the farmer because they can locate workers onsite in temporary accommodation for the 3 or 4 months a year they are needed. Year round work could mean moving area each season which I assume Mexicans do already.

Not to mention the problem of relocating close enough to make working on farms viable.
