Recently, I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Noa Bacchini from ISI Florence as we marketed study abroad programs with Kean International ! Speaking of, Kean students, October 5 is the deadline for applications to my program summer in Florence! Be sure to complete your application!

We also hired Cimmiaron Alvarez this year! She has been a wonderful addition to our dept and helps strengthen our Interpersonal/family/social-science arm of our department while also being strong in critical theory. Just had a lovely dinner and conversation. Welcome to Kean University Dr. Alvarez!

When you are finally ready to submit a manuscript to be reviewed for publication AND your CMJ student coauthors are there with you in person (they graduate so fast!)....you all press submit together! Regardless of the eventually decision, I'm proud of our work Natalia, Ridimerb, and Lennese!

It was an honor again serving on the Franklyn S. Haiman Award Committee this year for the Natl Communication Assoc. Some excellent entries made it hard to choose but we landed on an excellent piece! Sometimes my students go to cool places and sometimes they bring me cool things. Anarchoic Chambermate Alejandra Mantilla spent her summer (winter) in Peru and brought me back this notebook and furry llama for my office! Now I just need to think of a name for this new office guardian.....

We may not change the world, but this Kean CMJ group is intent on learning about and enacting more Debate and Civil Dialogue. They are a lovely and lively group, and I'm excited about this class and our upcoming discussions on democracy and discourse.

Here is a Kean CMJ crew ready to launch some senior capstone research projects! I'm looking forward to working with them this semester, and they are still, for now, eager and excited about the work ahead :)
