Example of this, NWS does not order evacuations but they can assist in evacuation notifications as requested by a local agency with jurisdiction to make such decision with resources to enforce.

Each local jurisdiction will follow an operating procedure which they created. NWS provides critical information and can be asked directly by these jurisdictions for information to assist with decision making. All local public warning infrastructure, decision making, & enforcement reside locally.
