So I am saying to you this: This is probably - other than being a parent, child, and a mother - this is the privilege of my life. I have loved every job I've had, but this one I sleep at night knowing that there are people who are depending on me and I take that seriously.

[This job] is making sure that victims know that you got them. You have their back and you’re going to do everything you possibly can to give them whatever justice looks like for them. That’s what I stand for. I wouldn’t be doing this job if not.

In Alameda County, we don’t need the Super Bowl to know we have a human trafficking problem. Addressing it in a comprehensive and holistic way will remain one of my highest priorities now and into the future.

In 2025, our office was able to secure new funding to protect victims through the Alameda County Family Justice Center and the Trauma Recovery Center. The services provided by these centers help our residents access legal, medical, and social resources when impacted by interpersonal violence.

- $1,004,793 in stolen property recovered
- 22,386 police reports reviewed
- 13,160 survivors served which is an 8% increase from 2024
- 40 unique services available to survivors
- 16,715 cases filed, a 23% increase from 2024
- $2,029,108 provided to survivors

This allowed us to improve our collaboration with law enforcement and provide prosecutors intervention strategies to prevent tragedies from occurring.

Addressing gun violence in our community remains one of my top priorities. Our office ensured that Alameda County was one of four California counties selected for the AB 1344 Gun Violence Restraining Order Pilot Program!

Today, I have huge news: Attorney General Bonta has endorsed our campaign to continue serving as District Attorney!

I hope to continue working closely with Attorney General Bonta in the years ahead to improve public safety in our county, but I must win in 2026 to make that happen.

This past year, we established an Alameda County Organized Retail Theft Task force, targeting organized, repeat offenders who hurt local businesses. The scale of this problem has been unacceptable in recent years, and there are now consequences in Alameda County.

Rebuilding the District Attorney’s office with seasoned professionals is a top priority of mine in my first term as DA. I’m proud to report that returning members to the District Attorney’s Office bring 569 years of experience to the table!

Alameda County DA charges former private school principal with wage theft, embezzlement The former principal of two East Bay private schools was charged on suspicion of wage theft, tax evasion and embezzlement from teachers and parents at both schools, prosecutors announced.

Parents trust that school owners will use tuition funds to educate their children and to compensate teachers for their hard work, not to enrich themselves. This case represents a breach of that trust.

This week I charged a former East Bay private school principal on suspicion of wage theft, tax evasion and embezzlement from teachers and parents.

Senator Jesse Arreguín, Chair of the Public Safety Committee, has endorsed my campaign to continue serving as DA!

We’ve had regular check-ins on public safety priorities. A professional and focused District Attorney’s office is a vital piece of the puzzle, but I know I can’t do this alone.

But for the sacrifice, I would have no shoulders upon which to stand. Giving honor and paying homage to the man that sought change and peace for all of us.

I have some exciting news! I am proud to announce that all 14 Alameda County Mayors have endorsed my campaign for Alameda County District Attorney.

This campaign will be a long journey, but knowing that these leaders have trust in me to seek justice for their residents means the world to me.

The Alameda County District Attorney's office evaluates every case on the strength of the evidence and whether, or not, the case can be prosecuted. We are guided by the principle that no one is above the law, including federal agents.

The death of Renee Nicole Good is a tragedy that we all mourn. We pray for her family and friends as they move through this season of grief.

As Alameda County District Attorney, my office’s H.E.A.T. Watch program has become more robust than ever before, bringing to justice people who sexually exploit children.

Sex trafficking survivors would get financial support under new Oakland proposal Councilmember Charlene Wang wants to create a Human Trafficking Survivor Support Fund, which would use fines levied against buyers and exploiters.

As your District Attorney, I continue to work tirelessly to get justice for human trafficking victims and survivors. The Human Trafficking Support Fund is a great step forward, and I urge the Oakland City Council to adopt it expeditiously.

It would help survivors by increasing financial penalties in certain human trafficking cases and directing those funds to services that help survivors, including street-level outreach and emergency housing.

I’m always looking for ways to partner with local leaders to protect our community and all who reside in it.

Yesterday, I was proud to join Oakland Councilmember Charlene Wang in support of her proposed Human Trafficking Support Fund.

The road ahead will not be easy, but I am a District Attorney for the People, and I will make you proud.

My top priorities are restoring trust and accountability in the office of the DA, ensuring that victims and survivors are advocated for and heard, and dispensing the duties of the office in a fair, impartial, and just way, all with a lens toward reducing serious and violent crimes in our county.
