How Cases Speak to One Another: Using Translation to Rethink Generalization in Political Science Research
Excited to see my new article with Erica Simmons out in APSR FirstView! We argue that when social scientists extend their arguments to new cases, they are often not generalizing their findings, but translating them to new contexts instead.

The book expands and updates the previous 2013 edition. Covering 31 courts, it confirms that explicit judicial dialogue only exists in certain parts of the world, notably in the common law tradition

Column | Trump demands the lame-duck president not do what he did as a lame duck
The president-elect wants to keep a number of seats in the judiciary unfilled, despite his push to stack the bench after he lost in 2020.
"1 in 14 judges confirmed during Trumpβs presidency were confirmed after he lost his reelection bid. Perhaps the best known of those judges is U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon. "
Will Biden/Schumer/Durbin show any sense of urgency in pushing to confirm judges?
