Baseball America's Top 10 for the #SFGiants is out, and while there's a lot of non-surprises, I definitely did not expect #5.

Baseball America's Top 10 for the #SFGiants is out, and while there's a lot of non-surprises, I definitely did not expect #5.
19.11.2025 18:14 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0LOLβ¦it didnβt actually happen last year, but imagine having your minor league coach being your uncle. That could go either really wellβ¦or really really poorly!
19.11.2025 02:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If I may, I'd also throw Will Bednar onto that list, who had a solid season now in relief with AA Richmond and AAA Sacramento. His velocity showed improvement, and may have late-inning bullpen potential. Braxton Roxby also is very much a possible pick, but doesn't have as high a ceiling.
19.11.2025 01:05 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0And here is the official word: No protections from the #SFGiants.
19.11.2025 01:02 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Shelton told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette: βI kind of look at [Meccage] and Oscar [Marin] as we have two pitching coaches. I think Justin Meccage is going to be a pitching coach. He has unbelievable knowledge; his ability to communicate and develop relationships is outstanding.β
18.11.2025 23:47 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Reportedly, the #SFGiants have their pitching coach, Justin Meccage. Meccage was most recently the Brewers Triple-A pitching coach, and formerly was the Pirates Assistant Pitching Coach and later Bullpen Coach, and he earned high praise from then-Pirates manager Shelton.

It's 13 minutes past the MLB deadline to add players to the 40-man roster ahead of the Rule 5 Draft. So far, the #SFGiants have not announced any roster moves, although some teams are still making announcements.
18.11.2025 23:13 β π 11 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1Just for fun, another example of why to not trust AI to tell you accurate things, especially Google's search. Note: Logan Martin is a pitcher. He did play for Kentucky for one year though, so it got that right.
11.11.2025 19:55 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I was hoping that Black might slide through waivers, but no such luck.
Martin is a 12th round pick from 2023, has some velocity upside and a slurvy breaking pitch, and a couple of decent Single-A seasons, though he's struggling with control in the AFL right now.
Parks Harber is unsurprisingly on the Fall Stars roster for the AFL's version of an All-Star Game.
Slightly surprisingly, he's the only #SFGiants representative. I thought Ryan Murphy or Spencer Miles had a chance to get on the list as well.
The Spring Breakout will be on Thursday March 19 at Scottsdale against the Reds.
05.11.2025 18:57 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The #SFGiants get the honor of hosting the USA in a WBC warmup. All the WBC teams play exhibitions March 3-4.
05.11.2025 18:57 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Hereβs the #SFGiants spring training schedule. Home games every Sunday, except one to visit the Cubs at Sloan Park. Also, check out that March 3rdβ¦
05.11.2025 18:57 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Parks Harber is impressing in the AFL π
This past week, he hit four doubles and finished fourth in the league with 12 total bases πͺ
He's featured in this week's AFL Hot Sheet: buff.ly/jNXFF6j
Parks Harber will be one of the participants in AFL HR Derby this Saturday at Sloan Park. Quite a Fall Parks has had!
05.11.2025 00:38 β π 13 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0This is incredible.
04.11.2025 07:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0RIP to Uni-Watch.
This column, and later site, really helped engage my interest and knowledge in uniforms, their styles and details. This is a huge archive that will soon be lost for all us fans.
Thank you Paul Lukas and Phil Hecken for all of it!

So it is Tony Vitello for the #SFGiants manager job. There were a lot of interesting guys in this search...but I think Vitello is the most exciting. I'm eager to see what he can do, and honestly, I'm excited to see what he does for developing the team's younger players.
22.10.2025 17:39 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Stadium staff have informed us the game is called. It was in the 8th inning and it was not close.
20.10.2025 02:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tonightβs Arizona Fall League game in Scottsdale was interrupted by an alarm requiring an evacuation of the stadium. No clear reason, and press and fans are being allowed to mill around outside.
20.10.2025 02:31 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Service time and active service time can get complicated when determining graduation status.
We put together the names that grauduated in 2025 and will still keep rookie status next season.
Four #SFGiants prospects graduated due to Service Time: Drew Gilbert, Christian Koss, Carson Seymour, and Kai-Wei Teng.
14.10.2025 19:01 β π 8 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0When I was researching it for a video, I came up empty with proof. The closest candidate I could find was a John W. Berry, a Mormon missionary that was associated with Sam Brannan, but I couldn't find any true connection with California that would prompt him to get a street. So I'm curious!
14.10.2025 18:42 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0@peterhartlaub.bsky.social Hey Peter, I just saw this story that you were a part of on the SF Chronicle front page and I hope you can answer a burning question for me: Who is Berry Street (near Oracle Park) named after?

βͺKeep an eye on Mason Black. Heβs struggled as a starter with surprisingly hittable stuff, but he has velocity. The team shifted him to relief late this year, and his velocity could play up in the role.β¬
06.10.2025 21:58 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0A few years ago, while he was on the team, I was saying that Stephen Vogt was a future manager. Obviously, Iβve got no regrets on that prediction now. But that is exactly the kind of manager the Giants need with this team. I donβt know who that is though.
29.09.2025 17:19 β π 14 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Boy, Wily Adames sure didnβt waste time putting one of the Bondsβ curses to bed. First pitch! For the first time since Barry, a #SFGiants player has hit 30 home runs (as a Giant).
28.09.2025 19:14 β π 13 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Sounds right, though Level is going to be very borderline on that Top 100 list and might fall off.
26.09.2025 20:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is quite interesting, and a very big honor for Trevor Cohen, who slashed .327/.438/.402 across 28 games, though with just three doubles, one triple, and one home run in 107 at-bats. He had 20 walks to 15 strikeouts, and eight steals in ten attempts.
26.09.2025 20:04 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Overall, I find this to be a fascinating introduction of a new rule. I like the addition, and seeing how baseball adjusts and strategies develop will be fascinating. The game of baseball is all about adjustments, and this will be fun to watch.
