Baseball America's Top 10 for the #SFGiants is out, and while there's a lot of non-surprises, I definitely did not expect #5.

LOL…it didn’t actually happen last year, but imagine having your minor league coach being your uncle. That could go either really well…or really really poorly!

If I may, I'd also throw Will Bednar onto that list, who had a solid season now in relief with AA Richmond and AAA Sacramento. His velocity showed improvement, and may have late-inning bullpen potential. Braxton Roxby also is very much a possible pick, but doesn't have as high a ceiling.

And here is the official word: No protections from the #SFGiants.

Shelton told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette: “I kind of look at [Meccage] and Oscar [Marin] as we have two pitching coaches. I think Justin Meccage is going to be a pitching coach. He has unbelievable knowledge; his ability to communicate and develop relationships is outstanding.”

Reportedly, the #SFGiants have their pitching coach, Justin Meccage. Meccage was most recently the Brewers Triple-A pitching coach, and formerly was the Pirates Assistant Pitching Coach and later Bullpen Coach, and he earned high praise from then-Pirates manager Shelton.

It's 13 minutes past the MLB deadline to add players to the 40-man roster ahead of the Rule 5 Draft. So far, the #SFGiants have not announced any roster moves, although some teams are still making announcements.

Just for fun, another example of why to not trust AI to tell you accurate things, especially Google's search. Note: Logan Martin is a pitcher. He did play for Kentucky for one year though, so it got that right.

I was hoping that Black might slide through waivers, but no such luck.

Martin is a 12th round pick from 2023, has some velocity upside and a slurvy breaking pitch, and a couple of decent Single-A seasons, though he's struggling with control in the AFL right now.

Parks Harber is unsurprisingly on the Fall Stars roster for the AFL's version of an All-Star Game.

Slightly surprisingly, he's the only #SFGiants representative. I thought Ryan Murphy or Spencer Miles had a chance to get on the list as well.

The Spring Breakout will be on Thursday March 19 at Scottsdale against the Reds.

The #SFGiants get the honor of hosting the USA in a WBC warmup. All the WBC teams play exhibitions March 3-4.

So it is Tony Vitello for the #SFGiants manager job. There were a lot of interesting guys in this search...but I think Vitello is the most exciting. I'm eager to see what he can do, and honestly, I'm excited to see what he does for developing the team's younger players.

We put together the names that grauduated in 2025 and will still keep rookie status next season.

Four #SFGiants prospects graduated due to Service Time: Drew Gilbert, Christian Koss, Carson Seymour, and Kai-Wei Teng.

When I was researching it for a video, I came up empty with proof. The closest candidate I could find was a John W. Berry, a Mormon missionary that was associated with Sam Brannan, but I couldn't find any true connection with California that would prompt him to get a street. So I'm curious!

A few years ago, while he was on the team, I was saying that Stephen Vogt was a future manager. Obviously, I’ve got no regrets on that prediction now. But that is exactly the kind of manager the Giants need with this team. I don’t know who that is though.

Boy, Wily Adames sure didn’t waste time putting one of the Bonds’ curses to bed. First pitch! For the first time since Barry, a #SFGiants player has hit 30 home runs (as a Giant).

Sounds right, though Level is going to be very borderline on that Top 100 list and might fall off.

This is quite interesting, and a very big honor for Trevor Cohen, who slashed .327/.438/.402 across 28 games, though with just three doubles, one triple, and one home run in 107 at-bats. He had 20 walks to 15 strikeouts, and eight steals in ten attempts.

Overall, I find this to be a fascinating introduction of a new rule. I like the addition, and seeing how baseball adjusts and strategies develop will be fascinating. The game of baseball is all about adjustments, and this will be fun to watch.
