This development is alarming. The app can automatically log in on behalf of students, potentially posing a serious risk to personal and university data security if they surrender passwords and other credentials to an AI company which is in no way an education provider, period.

Two thoughts:

1. Too many users worldwide are embedded into US tech ecosystems. If it's too hard to switch, ppl will stay where they are.

Exactly this. In actual functioning democracies, the HK47 plan would be an ordinary and legit strategy to win an election legally. GovHK can't admit that HK democracy is supposed to be permanently rigged against the opposition, so "trying to win" became "trying to overthrow the govt".
