You cannot endure our current reality in ANY timeline if you are constantly scraping your raw nerves across the jagged edges of the evil that people do. You need tangible, embodied reminders that we endure through hope and love, not despair.

It’s still killing & disabling

Our “rush back to normal” has devastated millions of lives

It’s a novel virus. We don’t know the full long term effects, but what we do know isn’t encouraging

The good news? You can make a difference

Wear a mask. Clean the air. Get vaccinated.

Disability is not a moral failing.

Being homeless is not a moral failing.

Capitalism and ableism set us up to fail.

They reduce us to nothing more than cogs in a machine.

The truth is most people are closer to becoming disabled or homeless than they can imagine.

It can happen to anyone.

There’s a difference between anxiety and preparedness.

There’s a difference between health stress and adaptation.

Taking proactive steps to avoid repeat Covid infections is a strength.

It’s something to be applauded, not psychologized.

Constant reinfections are not sustainable.

Mask up.

Tylenol in pregnancy doesn’t cause autism.

There isn’t an “epidemic of autism”.

Autism is not the fault of the mother or the child.

Whatever they announce tomorrow, it won’t be based in science or truth.

Stay vigilant, follow the science and support the neurodivergent community.

Disabled people aren’t “less than”.

It’s not a moral failing.

Most people will experience disability at some point.

It’s a minority group you can join at any time.

We need more accessibility, inclusion, accommodation and compassion.

There’s no social justice without disability justice.

It is so hard to ask for help, especially when you’re disabled & chronically ill.

When you’ve spent most of your life being treated as “less than” or a drain, you worry anyone you ask for help will judge you.

It takes a surprising amount of courage, so the best thing you can do is be kind
