Horrible weather emergencies like tornados are oddly more prevalent here, and some part of our DNA is wired to help out others in face of tragedy.

I mourn this loss possibly more than anything else of the last decade. We used to be known for being incredibly (oddly) friendly and helpful.

2/3 So that for a brief moment, we got to see Americans being the Americans I knew we were before. Ones who cared for each other, in the worst or last moments of life.
We care for each other and check in.

How horribly American is it that this tragedy tonight for a moment, brought everyone together.
Mourning innocent lives.

Feeling the impact for their loved ones and how uncertain life is.

A moment of ‘but by the grace of fate/god/the universe, there go me and mine.’

Hey soap friends! We are collecting soap to send to folks in LA!

Things are pretty scary out there for many of us. I can’t do a whole bunch about that on the grand scale- but I can give back to my community and care for my animals and do as many small acts of kindness as possible.

We had some lovely friends over for dinner last night, and they wanted to feed goats cookies- but couldn’t walk to the barn.

So we brought goats to them 🤣

I relate more to my (departed) parents every time I have to learn a new social media, but I’ve finally made it here. 🙌
