This marks the beginning of an exciting relationship with South East London Hospitals, and we are hopeful to continue building stronger connections to ensure everyone can access the care they need, regardless of their immigration status 💙

As a result of this roundtable, Guy’s & St Thomas’ and King’s have committed to exploring compassionate approaches to charging in maternity care, while all three hospitals agreed to work with us to shorten and simplify the process for pausing patient debt when people cannot afford to pay.

This month, we’re looking forward to a positive roundtable discussion with hospital directors to explore how to better understand the difficulties migrants face, including mothers who have experienced miscarriage or stillbirth and can still be charged if care is deemed non-urgent.
