Wild mistletoe! It was easy to spot because the host plant, a buckeye, had already dropped its leaves for the year.

Also about the same time, me some friends were playing D&D and the npc hireling (named Mikey) had just realized the PCs weren’t noble heroes, but chaotic neutral dirtbags, and threatened to go find an “even more powerful wizard” to challenge our party wizard.

Back in college, I was ordering a sandwich at the deli counter. The girl behind the counter asked what cheese I wanted and when I said provolone, she replied “why provolone when we can all prov together?” with the grimace of someone who knows it’s a cheesy line but is compelled to say it anyway.

I appreciate the logic behind the machete order, but it severely underestimates how much pod racing whips ass when you are nine years old.
