A year after applying, our client has been given further leave to remain.
She's a mother of 2 British kids who live with her. This would always be approved.
If the govt takes a year to process this, they are overworked. Last thing they should do is put more people on longer settlement routes.

This is what is often missed, harsher immigration policies lead to more homelessness. Labour's reduction of the move on period for refugees, extending visa routes etc etc will cause more homelessness. It's an inevitable outcome, which then feeds the far right narrative of migrants being a "burden".

Labour must recognise the link between homelessness and immigration
Homelessness will remain a prevalent issue in the UK as long as the government fails to recognise the link between it and immigration laws.

Last Friday was #WorldHomelessDay and our Rough Sleeping Manager, Louisa Thomas, explained in @bigissue.com how the government's immigration policy exacerbates homelessness.
Well worth a read if you've ever wondered about this misunderstood intersection.

Robert Jenrick lists 30 'activist judges' he vows to axe
In a bold move, Robert Jenrick is set to unveil a controversial plan targeting what he calls 'activist' judges, at the Conservative Party conference.
Robert Jenrick's plan to sack judges with whom he disagrees politically should terrify everyone.
The judiciary being independent & a bulwark against unlawful govt conduct is vital if we value the rule of law.
That shouldn't need explaining to senior politicians.
