No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Fire Horse women are "stubborn and violent" because of an Edo-period legend about a woman who tried to burn down Tokyo so she could see her boyfriend.

Her story is tragic, but it's interesting to me that the Fire Horse has flavors of women's power directed toward men.

Thinking about AI+creativity: 'creativity' still underspecified, but seems LLMs could be used to benchmark a 'creativity' score in a Turing-ish sort of way, eg -- could we quantify how well an LLM can mimic a writing style.

Quite impractical, but 'distance from LLM' feels like a creativity rating.

There will be a lot of fumbling around before the right language for something like this is found -- what qualifies something to have a "generative AI" label. They seem to be trying in a productive fashion but it's going to be mud for a long while I think.
