I love this and so wish HRM had anything passing for a similar vision for Halifax.

14.02.2026 12:31 — 👍 4 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Last year, five pedestrians were struck and killed in HRM within the first six months, & over 20 fatalities were reported by August (total for year tbc)
Follow-up joint advocacy with HRM requesting a detailed action plan was unsuccessful. This is the response from the Province (thread)
That’s giving Scarfolk Council vibes. @scarfolk.bsky.social

14.02.2026 12:08 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Day before yesterday was almost struck by a vehicle while crossing Lacewood at Willet. The crossing light has just come on, I stepped out and a pickup truck nearly ran over my feet turning right on red.
Right on red is dangerous.

24.01.2026 12:29 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I assert that every museum should have at least one inexplicably sketchy room. It may have just normal museum things in it or have something off like a reconstructed 1880s town¹, but it should just be...strange feeling.

05.01.2026 17:00 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This reminds me of something I read about yew trees in churchyards, often pre-dating the built church itself. Apparently Druids saw them as linked to life and death.
Look it up, fascinating stuff!
“… their song while quite fleeting is a lovely droopy descent down a simple scale of notes. It's very similar to the chaffinch song, only purer, and without the musical somersault that the chaffinsh seems to finish on”

This isn’t about bike lanes. It’s explicitly the requirement to own a car to live in this fucking country.
This has to shift to a story frame of affordability and not infrastructure or space. Cuz that story is lost to conservative virtue signalling
That’s made my day/week/month, actually.

I found a Northern Flicker feather on the ground, on the 2nd anniversary of my move to NS from the UK. Beautiful black, and the brightest yellow. I've taken it as a sign. I don't know of what yet.
