It's the same thing that brings people into the games industry, probably. They only see the rich guys at the top and ignore that most of the best devs in the industry will make a decent living with no notoriety and that's it.

I have a feeling that a lot of people think they could be the next Stephen King or Rowling—or some other famous writer that IS rich—if only they could get their idea out. Rowling may be a trashbag, but she managed to get rich as hell with some passable prose and a modicum of novelty.

I have only realized now that lists do not capture things that the people you follow have reposted without comment, which is, in a word, complete shitballs.

It was a very good listen, though I did not enjoy the reading of zeros and ones so much. But minor complaint, fun times overall! Great recommendation. :)

Last night I saw a guy pull up to a house in an Audi TT RS and deliver food. And the car was in good shape, it wasn't some junkyard auction rescue. I can't believe delivering food even pays the gas for that thing.
