I hate the term "my OCs" I feel like it's just devaluing your own work to put Products on a pedestal. "Properly Published Media has Characters but I the Amateur only have lowly OCs" no you both have characters. You know how people write the movies & games & shows you like. Yeah you could do that too

The only time I feel like this was relevant again was english 1 in college where we talked a lot about rhetoric stuff

Edit to a deleted reply but I learned about this in 8th grade, not as early as elementary but still pretty early.
