My mate came over from Barcelona. We were stood waiting for Merseyrail... 22 minutes til the next train...

I asked him how often the metro trains were in Barca, and he had no idea. It had never occurred to him. It was just always 'a few minutes'...

Always wondered why/how so many bikes end up in the canals. Do they get thrown in or do people fall in? Are bikes so cheaply available people don't take much care of theirs? Are they mostly rental bikes so people don't feel like they need to look after them?

I just don't understand the removal of the signs. If you're investigating installing cameras, what cost is it to leave the signs? They don't cost money to keep up. If you're not enforcing it anyway, the only possible result is worse/more dangerous traffic.

Cars routinely driving on the pavement, parking on KEEP CLEAR markings, parking on pedestrian crossing, driving into and then reversing out of the school driveway... but we can't stop them all so why bother I guess. Taxi this morning with pavement parking, double-yellows, "KEEP CLEAR" trifecta.

Drivers have been routinely ignoring the signs and despite efforts by local ward councillors and the wider community, volunteers have not been found. As a result of these two factors in particular, the school streets scheme was reviewed and not seen as an effective nor sustainable scheme under such circumstance. With so many inconsiderate drivers ignoring the signs, this became a safety issue in itself.

It is deeply regrettable and despite when briefed in October, ward councillors asked for a deferral of the decision until Christmas for more time to find volunteers, these were not forthcoming. Therefore, some six months into this academic year, and in light of further guidance from the Department of Transport (DfT), a shortfall in volunteers and a reliance on Sussex Police to enforce contraventions of the restrictions (as the Council does not presently have moving traffic offences powers) and expiry of the experimental traffic order, Council officers concluded that this could not be considered a viable scheme.

Furious that this #SchoolStreet has been removed and baffled by the reasoning. "Too many people are ignoring this safety rule so we're removing the rule". Statement from Trevor Muten:

A while ago I started a list of vehicles that a UA would fit inside (mostly sourced from Facebook) - Honda Fit was already on there!

That’s nothin’, I put mine in a Honda Fit:

Popped into town, dropped supplies at the gallery, collected the post, did a bit of shopping, dropped off at the post office, did a local picture delivery. Free parking everywhere, no traffic problems and home in no time. Bikes are amazing.

They are already "failing". Cars lined up parked on pavements/double yellows, double parking, blocking driveways, commercial vehicles taking shortcuts...
