Even if the Senate voted to extend ACA subsidies, the GOP-controlled House is unlikely to allow a vote on them.

And there's of course no guarantee that Trump would even go along with a deal.

The cruel irony is that this will end up hurting Republican states the most.

They are going to absolutely EXHAUST their partisans again "fighting" in December for ACA subsidies that Johnson has basically already said are dead cuz he won't bring them up for a vote. MEANWHILE you are supposed to trust these MFing Democratic Senators to do what, exactly???? MESSAGE WELL, LOL

And all of them involve rate hikes of 2-300% and make the prices unaffordable.
These people are a joke.

You voted yes for a senate vote that won’t pass and a promise about jobs that are protected by federal laws already, while ignoring the fact that without these subsidies ACA rates will increase by 200% and literally cost lives. There is time for you to reverse this. Vote no in the future.

And yet you voted for cloture yesterday, for the promise of a senate vote that won’t pass on the ACA subsidies and a promise to return jobs slashed during the shutdown that are legally protected anyway.
People’s healthcare costs are going to skyrocket 200%. This will cost lives. Lives > jobs.

Jobs that are cut during the shutdown can’t be permanently cut, and you know this. They’re protected.
On the other hand, our insurance rising by 200% for families is real, and is going to lead to families not being able to afford health insurance. This will cost people their lives.

This isn’t a deal. It’s a betrayal.

Gen Z won’t forget which Democrats made a big show of “standing up for healthcare” only to sell us out at their earliest convenience.

They're treating Trump illegally firing federal employees like it's leverage, not a criminal act.

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

Yes, this is hard. Yes, it’s painful. Yes, it’s a pain in the patootey. But, saying “no” now makes it that much harder for him to erode more right and more healthcare coverage later.
So grow a spine, woman up, and hold out for measurable, concrete positive outcomes. Not stuff he already has to do.

Every time you give in to him when we *could* win makes it that much harder to regain this ground later, when we have to regain a sense of normalcy and decency.

Hold the line. Vote NO.
The problem with this is the same problem everyone has when dealing with T: you can win against him but he makes the cost so high that it seems easier to cave and deal with him later.
That’s the wrong way to look at this.

We expect you to hold the line and vote no, for the same reason we don’t actually believe Lucy is going to let Charlie Brown kick the football. A vote for a senate vote from these people isn’t enough; it has to have more protections.

He had better hope it passes when they "get" to vote on it then, otherwise this is a $1000-$2000 tax increase on Americans. Maybe they should phrase it that was to Republicans since they think all taxes are bad. I can swing $200-$300 a month. $1400-$1600 is what I'm looking at in CA w/o subsidies.
