Did you know that street trees can reduce ambient temperatures by as much as 15°F (~8°C) and save up to 60% in street resurfacing costs?

I’d say it is. It does lean harder into the car combat category than Mario or Sonic but it’s still a kart racer.

Maybe car combat games might come back too… we got Fume and two seasons of the Twisted Metal show

Kinda crazy that kart racers are going through the same renaissance that 3D platformers went through the past few years

JINX is a 3D action platformer inspired by Sonic Adventure, Super Mario Sunshine and NiGHTS :-) You can use spell cards and string moves together to move through the stages with style.

The stages are designed to be thoroughly explored like a mario 64 world, but also for speedrunning ala SA1/2

There’s a handful under that category (Pseudoregalia, Metro Gravity, Blue Fire) but ya I agree. It’s nice when you get the whole kit from the start but the world evolves over time instead. Basically Bowser’s Fury or Demon Tides. I’m not sure what to call those types tho

A Twitter/X poll asking “What kind of gameplay do you prefer in 3D platformers?”. Responses were “Linear/Course Clear” at 37%, “Collectathon” at 24%, and “Metroidvania/SearchAction” at 39%.
