Vets often have lots of pets because they like pets and thatβs why they became vets. But having a bunch of pets isnβt what makes you a vet.
Some fun facts about Forbe's 30 Under 30 to celebrate the new list:
They don't like dig up cool people, they take nominees and you CAN nominate yourself. There are also PR firms that specialize in getting people on the list.
Fog of war is when you have a camera pointed at something and smoke is obscuring the view, so you shoot into it anyway, because warriors (tm) just blind fire into the abyss.

They are close. iPhone likes to oversaturate reds, so theyβre not quite this red irl. Idk if I should just harvest or wait for the plant to release them. #habanero

These things aren't savvy realism. They're nihilistic defeatism, indistinguishable in substance and effect from outright support for Trumpism. Human institutions are not immutable facts of nature. We make and we can remake them.
it's much more "look at this neat thing I made" and less "here's the horror. get more horror."
but it's also still clunky
well, I do stand corrected, it looks to be estimated at about 21%. that said, the study itself acknowledges that techniques for doing so are pretty error prone. they basically just guess based on what is produced minus what people actually need.

one of the main reasons that C suite chuds think AI can replace all jobs is that they know that AI can replace THEIR jobs
30.11.2025 16:04 β π 36 π 6 π¬ 1 π 2My understanding is thatβs primarily due to grocery stores doing that, but I had difficulty locating a source. If you have a source that clearly makes that distinction, Iβd be happy to take a look at it. That said, it seems thereβs some shifty semantic ball-and-cup games around this issue generally
30.11.2025 18:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Fascinating stuff (and yeah, obligatory note that AI is a stupid label, this isn't an LLM etc)
But once again, this is also about substituting mere prediction for explanation. Understanding is overhead to capital, predictions are all it cares about. Capital is trying to get rid of science
that said, the article is discussing something important -- composting *is* a really good thing to do with food scraps. there's a trash-to-treasure angle that is really good news.
it feels like leading with "you hogs buy too much food" is counterproductive to promoting that
The point is, before you feel guilty, remember that grocery stores with locked dumpsters contribute way more to food waste than the minor scraps you didnβt meticulously account for in preparing a family holiday meal.

βFood wasteβ is any waste from food: bones, husks, coffee grounds. It also includes waste from grocery stores or elsewhere in the supply chain.
