As part of my coaching, my coach took me through a forest bathing exercise at Lafayette Reservoir. Feeling calm and grounded, despite the sadness and difficult feelings.

Taught the first week of a well-attended dance class at a synagogue. Glad folks enjoyed it -- seven more weeks to go, then a party with a live band!

That is all...certainly something. 😬 😵‍💫 🫠

Strangely, a few of them had seeds in them! Only maybe 3 of them out of the whole batch of about 30 or so persimmons. Not sure why!

I peeled them, because a student who gave me some of them warned me eating too much of the skins could lead to constipation.

I definitely respect any fruit that's really tasty and can last on the counter, unrefrigerated, for over a month and a half.

Still catching up on my gratitudes backlog.

Helped my college friend and his gf move from Santa Cruz to San Mateo.

They're no closer, but I'm happy they're not going to be farther away -- and it turns out they bought a condo! They'll have room to host game nights!

That's an awesome idea! Love me a good dungeon map. And if you get cold afterwards you have a blanket!

A day of music theory, piano (more triad chords), and some digital audio workstation learning.

Itching to get to some composition/applied theory stuff, but I'll be patient. There's a lot to learn.

The gigantic Hangar One at Moffett Federal Airfield in Mountain View, CA. Its exterior cladding has been replaced on its sides and along the tops of its enormous doors at one end. The bottom 75% of the doors are yet to be covered, so their metal frameworks are still visible.

They're reskinning Hangar One at Moffett Field. It was sad (but also kinda neat) seeing its skeleton the last few years, but I was worried it would degrade due to weathering.

I'm glad they're fixing that now.

I got pretty behind on this challenge, but I'll try to catch up.

On New Year's Day I was able to spend some more time with my friend Darcy over in SF. The Indian pizza we had for lunch at Al Hamra was pretty solid.

Despite a lot of research, there's apparently no evidence proving that pheromones exist in humans. Huh. TIL.

I try to hold to the same ethic. I've been in some dark places the last 6 months, and I definitely am not hiding it on here (I have to mask at work). I'm trying to work through it and process it.

But I'm also spreading positivity everywhere I can and using my experience to try to support others.

Music homework. Learning scales and chord progression.

The sadness has been strong, and motivation fairly low, but I did complete the assignment.

Next up: play them on the piano, and then tackle chord inversions.

Went to a dinner hosted by my oldest friend (longest friend?) Darcy (et alia).

Looking forward to seeing bim again on New Year's day and catching up.

Meadow has been the most demanding of cuddles and walks so she's gotten the most attention, but I definitely am more of a cat person in general.

My uncle did too. I can understand that. It's fascinating to see how accidents have consistently been used to improve safety procedures, but the regulations, as they say, are written in blood.

You'd think. But Bumble (the one that'd not owned by the conglomerate) makes you pay $30/month just to make the app useable.

You only get to talk to people if you both swipe right, but unless you pay, you don't know who swiped on you--and you only get 25 right swipes per day.
