As the election gets closer, democrats need a viable platform… things that they can accomplish over the next two years and a vision beyond that. They can’t rely on disapproval of Trump to win the day.

It should have a clock, just so they can run the Zambonis out every 20 minutes.

The replacement VP must be confirmed by a majority of both the House and Senate before taking office.

Sure, there is the whole vulgar political aspect. But, I’m just as annoyed by an almost 2 month break in league play. It’s going to be hard to return after that. Not to worry, 2 month breaks are going to be a feature of the league.

What make coal dirty is things like mercury and sulfur. CO2 is bad because it’s a greenhouse gas, and will lead to global warming. Mercury is a neurotoxin. Sulfur causes acid rain.

They also want to end the Mercury and Air Toxins Standards (MATS) rule.

Ok, but NO!
- Find alternative channels.
- Tell Amazon to change their practices.

As a vendor in their system, their practices are your practices.

Trump admin. is muffling CDC’s flagship health journal, report finds CDC's MMWR is publishing much less, and sources say studies now require RFK Jr.'s sign-off.

But will we actually know a pandemic is occurring?

I have to admit to not following China as much. They seem an enigma, maybe a Brave New World.

They are a threat, but don’t seem to be primarily a military threat. They seem willing to play the long game. Spent a great deal of effort converting cheap labor to hard money.

There is also a strong push to limit things to that is explicitly required by statute.

Part of the problem is political leadership doesn’t know what it wants. They seem surprised when they learn the extent of the research portfolio and problems it’s trying to solve. They see the need. As a result, there is a lack of direction.

Reality has changed greatly over the past 100 years. Great Depression, WWII, jet engines, and Panamax ship changed the world in ways that don’t align left or right.

Trump’s mercantilism is a total fail in this world.

Clinton and Obama were essentially neoliberals as well. Clinton’s third way was Keynesian neoliberalism, and Obama added some progressivism to the mix.

Republicans of the 2000s were a mess. They were deeply warped by 9/11 and Obama’s election broke them.

Nixon, maybe Hoover. Reagan was a neoliberal. Eisenhower paved to way to neoliberalism.

Anecdotal evidence outweighs empirical data. Heck, sometimes there isn’t even an anecdote. Lots of people think they know stuff. Dunning Kruger in action.

Democrats should run on fixing our broken immigration system. Pathway to citizenship. No (or reasonable) quotas.

Not that long ago, this was the business conservative position. Circa 2010, I remember a strong right wing friend very concerned about worker shortages going forward.
