There are 3 components: Relay, AppView, and Personal Data Server.

Would love to hear more from you Rudy if you get a chance. I've done a podcast episode on the fediverse and would love to spotlight what you're doing.

How decentralized is Bluesky really? -- Dustycloud Brainstorms

And it appears that Blacksky is using the relay of Bluesky, rather than operating its own. (Surely because of how expensive it would be to do otherwise.)

Mastodon people has been talking about this for a while. AT Protocol is not as decentralized as the one the fediverse uses.

There are two kinds of Bluesky servers, relays and personal data servers.

Relays have to index the entirety of the network and are much more high powered and expensive. Blacksky is not a relay, it's a PDS. myatproto.social

Pls check your status, even if you’ve never missed an election. Just be extra sure you’re still registered, know where your polling place is OR request an absentee ballot, and research what is on the ballots!

Donald Trump said disabled people should just die, his nephew says | CBC Radio When Fred Trump III asked his uncle Donald Trump for money to help with his disabled son’s medical care, he says the former U.S. president suggested letting the young man die instead.

Donald Trump enables the eugenic policies of RFK Jr because he shares the larger goal: Eliminating "unfit" people who he thinks are a drain on society.

According to Fred Trump, his nephew, Donald offered this advice on his disabled son: "Maybe you should just let him die and move down to Florida."

Well, you at least woke up to the awfulness. It's unfortunate, but most of the MSM and most established Democratic leaders have not. They do not know what they are facing, because they think they know everything.

Interestingly enough, the Y chromosome actually is optional in many species. The sex selection genes do necessarily require it, even within mammals. IIRC several mole, rat, and a bunch of other fish and frog species have no Y chromosomes, but also have males still.

The fact that women have two sex chromosomes of the same type may be the secret to their living longer than males because that makes their bodies more resistant to damaging mutations.

This is a fascinating writeup of a study on birds, which switch which sex has mixed and same chromosomes.

Tyler Cowen has always been a class A creep and he owes all his success to the Koch project to defund all social goods and let the climate apocalypse rip. Healthy societies would have let the wolves take him years ago.

Telling Trump that Portland and other cities are doing fine will not deter him; the very fact that they are doing fine, and the challenge this poses to MAGA’s predatory, retrograde worldview, are the real β€œproblems” that the crackdowns aim to remedy. 17/

Citizens need to recognize that Trump sends troops to liberal U.S. cities not because they are hellholes, but because they are actually successful examples of Democratic and liberal governance, despite their very real flaws. 16/

As with the L.A. and D.C. deployments, the Trump administration is pretty clearly aiming to provoke violence from protestors that would in turn provide justification for a harsher crackdown. 6/

If a high ranking Democrat ever said "the NFL sucks" it would be looped endlessly on the news as proof of how out of touch Dems are for the next 40 years.

"Being mostly a con artist and grifter, Trump is primarily interested in being praised and using the public treasury as his personal piggy-bank. But Vought has much larger ambitions"

Vought's public policy is motivated by a desire to force America to β€œunderstand the reality that it has to obey God"

Snow is less common and housing is unobtainable in the US because of Muslims moving to Europe.

Definitely makes Republican sense.

Pity the ADL. It went out of its way to defend Elon Musk's definitely-not-a-sieg-heil, and in return gets this.

Yes. And polling underscores your analysis here. Democrats' numbers have fallen because they haven't been speaking loudly and fighting harder.

It's Democratic voters who are turning on the party.

Shudder to think about the mind of a man who spends an entire movie grumbling to himself because he was forced to watch to a woman who has had sex.

Yes. And instead of pointing out that the right wing is horribly exaggerating issues, some people just want to cower in the corner.

Regardless of how one feels about trans athletes, letting them participate in freedom affects almost no one, including 5th-placer Riley Gaines.
