I agree, there’s a solid case for that. It’s going to be the question a lot of people will be asking now, and none of it looks puts Starmer in a good light

The blame lies with the top brass who thought left wing voters would stick with Labour no matter how much they were abandoned and stepped on

But also with everyone in Labour that has supported Starmer’s shift to the right in trying to chase Reform

You all need to push for the party to be better

Yeah it’s that voters are “impatient” that’s the issue, not that Starmer and co have forgotten their base to constantly chase after the Reform vote

Doesn’t help when the incumbent government and leader are shooting themselves in the feet and forgetting the people who voted for them

It must be a nationwide conspiracy to keep them out, not the fact that their candidate was a nazi associated, pseudoscience peddling, sexual assaulter with an unhealthy obsession with girls having kids

Or that people are starting to see through Reform’s shtick

The so called “main” parties can’t even muster a third of the vote. Meanwhile the Greens outdid the entire right wing by themselves

Maybe it’s time for Labour to reassess their priorities

The far right once again trying to claim their deep religious beliefs and defence, when they’d probably burn up the moment they set foot in a church

All those losing their jobs must be overjoyed at hearing how those in charge have seen a massive increase in share price (and no doubt personal worth) at their expense

The rich get richer and everyone else loses everything

And yet if Labour won they would be saying it’s an indication that the country was happy with Labour and Starmer

It absolutely is a reflection of people’s views across the country, and if Labour don’t realise it they’re only going to get pushed further and further down

You have to imagine this will come up a lot over the next few days/weeks, as Labour try to assess their loss.

The question will continue to be over who Starmer is really in this for - the party or himself?

Just shows that Reform’s underhanded tricks weren’t enough to sway the vote in their favour. In a seat that was as low if not lower in priority last election for the Greens as it was Reform, and where each party put a ton of effort in

This is a loss for Reform just as it is for Labour

Now the Labour infighting will start. There will always be the question of whether they would have won if Starmer allowed Burnham to stand, instead of blocking a potential leadership challenger

It’s actually broken their minds. They’re in complete meltdown

Poor Nigel can’t handle losing and has to resort to Trump’s signature whinging about cheating

Interestingly, they claim the Greens cheated by having more than one person in the booth and guiding voting, when Zia Yusuf was cheering at a very similar thing on Twitter when it was going Reforms way

Poor Nigel, his castle is starting to crumble and all he can resort to is Trumpian style whining

Turns out bots can’t vote.

Maybe Starmer will start to realise that not everyone wants our government to copy Reforms destructive ideas

Big defeat for Reform, and an even more humiliating one for Labour. Just shows that people reject and are fighting against the division and hate that Reform are trying to spread, and also reject those trying to copy them

They’re far too late to the party (pun? Not intended anyway)

The Greens have already captured much of the left vote and there’s very little place for Your Party now. They spent far too much time fighting each other and it’s hard to see how they’ll be relevant anymore

Elections are full of tactical voting, meaning many cannot vote for who they really want to, which undermines the whole point of a democracy

PR might not be perfect, but let’s start moving to a better system that allows people to have a meaningful vote. Perfect being the enemy of good and all that

All you need to do is look at Reforms “Resolute 1850” aka “Centre for a Better Britain” to see their echoes of Project 2025

They’re all cut from the same cloth, and if Reform get anywhere near power we’ll soon turn into Trump’s Little Britain

The Brexit referendum was described as “once in a generation”. Well now the next generation is here and they’re saying they want rejoin. So why not?

All of this would have likely been avoided too if Starmer had allowed Burnham to run, instead personal goals got ahead of party goals

Green and Reform voters are probably more motivated to actually go out and vote as well

The whole idea of taxing people who can’t afford to have children, in an attempt to make them have children, is absurd

What about those that cannot have children? Or have lost children?

The idea is simply to punish those that don’t fit Reform’s ideals. Just like with everything else

This is why trying to make a deal with Trump is useless, because down the line when he figures out a new way to screw people over you still get hit with harsher demands

He won’t keep to a trade deal when he doesn’t even follow the law

Maybe he should use this imaginary ship to look after the millions of Americans who can’t get healthcare because of their broken system

So they want us to think that removing the legislation that protects us from exploitation by our employers and ensuring we get fair pay will somehow make life cheaper?

They really are scraping the bottom of the barrel of excuses to push forward their own agendas
