A photo of Rev. Jesse Jackson speaking during an interview in July 1983.

Reverend Jesse Jackson was one of America’s greatest patriots. He spent his life summoning all
of us to fulfill the promise of America and building the coalitions to make that promise real.

A son of Greenville, South Carolina, Reverend Jackson first rose to the national stage as one of the young leaders of the Civil Rights Movement.
His presidential runs in 1984 and 1988 electrified millions of Americans and showed them what could be possible. From Washington, DC to the Bay Area, from the Mississippi Delta to Appalachia, from South Africa to the South Side of Chicago, Reverend Jackson gave a voice to people who were removed from power and politics. He let us know our voices mattered. He instilled in us that we were somebody. And he widened the path for generations to follow in his footsteps and lead.

The Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr. was a legendary voice for the voiceless, powerful civil rights champion and trailblazer extraordinaire.

He inspired us to keep hope alive in the struggle for liberty and justice for all.

We are thankful for his service to the nation.

May he forever rest in power.

There were COVID outbreaks in a lot of mental hospitals that killed people. One famous one at St. Elizabeth's here but that was the case across the country that mental wards would have dangerous COVID outbreaks. Allegedly these people were there for medical healing. Carceral psychiatry is not care.

Literally found out one of my ancestors was trafficked from the islands and forced to work on a breeding plantation.

I also found a document which detailed how after the civil war, a white man took one of my cousins children for labor and just refused to give him back.

Dear White people, what's the point of teaching Black history when the majority of you allow the systems of oppression to rebrand itself and now start to target you and your families? Are you hard of listening, or some shit, or do you think it would be fun to find out for yourselves?

This is Bob Coveiro. He sat by his human's grave for 10 years until his own death in 2021. Pets were not permitted to be buried with humans, but he was given an exception. Now 5 years later, inspired by his loyalty, Brazil passed the Bob Coveiro Law allowing pets to be buried in family graves. 14/10

πŸ™‚πŸ™‚ True. I was hopeful that once she got into office that would shift. I feel that she didn't have time to make adjustments to the core democrats policies. I really think that they didn't want her to win.

If you refrained from voting, this administration is on you. I disagreed with her on Palestine and I still voted for VP Harris because she is movable. The only reason donald won is because of white voters. Those who voted for him and those who withheld their vote. This is not rocket science.
