Just this past week, they were trying to hire back workers they already hired and fired rather than replacing them with loyalists. I think they thought maybe anyone could do these jobs and were wrong. I have firsthand knowledge of people hired back as contractors to do the same job.

Actually they are rural NY:) I moved from Texas to NY in 2008, but was born in Austin and lived there 30 years.

Kudos to the American Academy of Family Practice for supporting COVID-19 vaccination for everyone over the age of 6 months. They join AAP and ACOG in efforts to protect Americans from COVID-19.

Governor Hochul Signs Executive Order Expanding Access to Vaccines Amid Uncertainty in Washington In the face of attacks on science and healthcare from the federal government, Governor Hochul is taking steps to protect vaccine access across New York State.

New York's COVID vaccine executive order will allow all New Yorkers, regardless of age or underlying conditions, to receive a COVID vaccine at any pharmacy, despite greater restrictions at federal level.

It is active for 30 days, allowing time for more permanent legislation to be passed.

FWIW Australia ran a study on what single thing they could do to prevent kids dying, and the #1 thing they found (and implemented) was early swim lessons so kids could keep themselves above water, float, and get to safety when in trouble. It was a good idea we implemented.
